Why do you add salt and sugar to your cereals?

Salt and sugar are added to cereals to aid cooking, texture and taste. The salt and sugar levels of our cereals are regularly monitored to make sure only the minimum amounts are used to give the maximum effect.

A two biscuit serving of Weetabix contains one fiftieth of a teaspoon of salt (0.1g), 1.7% of the FSA’s suggested daily salt intake.
Each Weetabix contains one hundredth of a teaspoon of salt (0.05g), 0.8% of the FSA’s suggested daily salt intake.
A two biscuit serving of Weetabix contains less than half a teaspoon of sugar (1.7g).
Each Weetabix contains less than a fifth of a teaspoon of sugar (0.9g).

Ready brek Original contains no added salt or sugar.
